United In Faith Going Solar

The workers have arrived and are starting to install solar panels on the roof of United In Faith Christian Church located at 16th Street and Illinois Avenue in Murphysboro.  The purpose was to save the congregation money on ever-increasing electric bills and also be good stewards of the environment. 

A part of the project also included shoring up the rafter system as well as upgrading the electric in the building, especially in the kitchen.  

Keep an eye out for more improvements as we are considering an upgrade to the exterior siding and even looking at a new look for the entrance. Also, for safety and security we are getting new locks and security cameras. In this way we can provide a safe environment for those who come to our building. 

As we are told in scripture Colossians 5:4, "Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity." We are prudently and steadily looking to become more visable to our community and to reach out in every opportunity.  These upgrades are a part of that vision.
